To improve the patient’s adaptation, psychological interventions such as short-term psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness meditation, biofeedback, and group psychotherapy can be helpful.

The experiment was carried out in Sprague Dawley rats divided into seven groups, serving as plain control, disease control, standard control, curative A and B and preventive A and B groups. Animals of plain control received distilled water. Remaining six groups received Ethylene glycol 0.75% and Ammonium chloride 1% by adding in the drinking water for the first three days followed by 0.75% Ethylene glycol for 18days. From 8th day till 21st day, standard control received Cystone in the dose of 750mg/kg. Preventive and curative test groups were treated with hydroalcoholic extract of the test drug in the dose of 132mg/kg and 264mg/kg from 1st to 21st day and 8th to 21st day of calculi induction.

Test drug reduced the number of calcium oxalate crystals in the urine; the level of urinary calcium, creatinine, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium and chloride decreased significantly in standard and test groups. The urine volume increased significantly in all the test groups. The level of serum calcium, urea, phosphorus and creatinine were significantly reduced in all the test groups.

These results indicated that the test drug reduced and prevented the growth of urinary stones. Moreover, the test drug also possessed significant antiurolithiatic activity. However, the protective effect was found more than its curative effect.

The ganglia were examined in intact (IP) 7-day-old (castration day) pigs, and at 3 and 6 months after surgery. In IP and control (3- and 6-month-old noncastrated pigs) groups, virtually, all neurons were adrenergic (68%) or cholinergic (32%) in nature. Many of them (32%, 51%, and 81%, respectively; 56%, 75%, and 85% adrenergic; and 32%, 52%, and 65% cholinergic, respectively) stained for the androgen receptor (AR), and only a small number of nerve cells were caspase-3 (CASP-3)-positive. In 3- and 6-month-old castrated pigs, an excessive loss (87.6% and 87.5%, respectively) of neurons and intraganglionic nerve fibers was observed. The majority of the surviving adrenergic (61% and 72%, respectively) and many cholinergic (41% and 31%, respectively) neurons expressed CASP-3 and were also AR-positive (61% and 66%, and 40% and 36%, respectively). This study revealed for the first time the excessive loss of intramural UBT neurons following castration, which could have resulted from apoptosis induced by androgen deprivation.Red mark syndrome (RMS) is a skin disorder affecting rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The present work aimed to correlate the gross skin lesions affecting 46 fish sampled from farms surveyed for RMS with their microscopic features, identifying histological parameters that may be suggestive of disease progression. Skin lesions were grossly included in one of three categories (types I, II and III) according to the progressive degree of severity. Histological parameters and anti-proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) tissue immunoreactivity were semi-quantitatively assessed. In the dermis, PCNA-positive lymphocytes, fibroblasts and endothelial cells were indicative of active phlogosis. A significant increase in PCNA-immunoreactive lymphocytes, from gross type I to type III cases, was found only in the hypodermis. The histological parameters significantly associated with the gross lesion severity were progressive loss of the epithelium and scales, recruitment of inflammatory cells in the stratum compactum, loss of architecture of the stratum compactum, perivascular and perineural granulomatous inflammation and increase in lymphocyte infiltration of the muscular layer. In the type II and type III categories, inflammation in the hypodermis and muscle displayed a granulomatous pattern, reinforcing the hypothesis of an immunopathological mechanism. The morphological diagnosis of “deep chronic dermatitis associated to panniculitis and myositis, characterised by lympho-histiocytic and granulomatous reaction” is suggested.Perceptions of social mobility vary across countries. However, past studies have mostly focused on populations in Western developed countries. Little is known about perceptions of social mobility in non-Western developing countries. The current paper focuses on Chinese perceptions of social mobility using a large-scale nationally representative sample. We found that, overall, Chinese believed in upward social mobility. Moreover, different patterns of perceptions of social mobility were identified, which suggest that respondents experienced either upward or downward social mobility in the past, but all of them thought that they can move up in the future. Perceptions of social mobility were also linked to important sociodemographic and economic factors. We discuss these findings in relation to the Chinese economic context.

Successive multicenter studies for pediatric low-grade glioma (LGG) in Germany were accompanied by a doubling of annual recruitment over 2 decades. We investigated whether this increase conveyed a change of epidemiologic characteristics or survival.

Participating centers reported 4634 patients with the radiologic/histologic diagnosis of LGG (1996-2018), rising from 109 to 278/year. Relating these numbers to all pediatric CNS tumors registered at the German Childhood Cancer Registry, the LGG fraction and annual crude incidence rates increased (32% to 51%; 0.94 to 2.12/100,000 children/adolescents<15 years). The consecutive LGG studies recruited 899 (HIT-LGG 1996), 1592 (SIOP-LGG 2004), and 1836 (LGG-registry) patients with similar distribution of tumor-sites, histology, and dissemination. 5-year overall survival was 96%-98% at median observation time of 8.1 years. Acknowledging unequal follow-up periods, 589/899 (66%), 1089/1582 (69%), and 1387/1836 (76%) patients remained under observation, while 1252/4317 received adjuvant treatment with decreasing frequency of front-line radiotherapy from 16% to 5%.
