05). It was mostly observed forthemaxilla right M3 (18) (30.9%) and in the single quadrant of the jaws (9.7%).
The frequency of M3 agenesis was more common in patients aged 12 to 19 years than in those aged 20 years and older. Additionally, M3 agenesis was more common in females and in the maxilla.

The prevalence of hookah smoking has increased in the United States since at least 2010, especially among youth and young adults. This study assessed self-reported reasons for hookah smoking cessation and transition to or maintenance of high-frequency hookah smoking among current hookah smokers.
Separately analyzed data from the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) study, a longitudinal cohort study. Frequency of and reasons for hookah smoking were ascertained at wave 1 (2013-14); frequency of hookah smoking and past-year cessation were ascertained at wave 2 (2014-15). Weighted multivariable logistic and ordinal logistic regression models were fitted to predict hookah smoking cessation and frequency of hookah smoking at wave 2, respectively, accounting for demographic and behavioral risk factors, reasons for hookah smoking and frequency of hookah smoking at wave 1.
United States.
A total of 693 youth and 4400 adult past-year hookah smokers.
Self-reported tobacco-use patterns and associbility and socialization while smoking hookah in the United States are associated with reduced likelihood of cessation and increased likelihood of high-frequency hookah smoking.

Herein, directed electronic modulation of NiO nanoparticles was achieved by simple surface molecular modification with small organic molecules. By adjusting the electronic properties of modifying molecules, the local electronic structure was rationally tailored and a close electronic structure-activity relationship was discovered the increasing electron-withdrawing modification readily decreased the electron density around surface Ni sites, accelerating the reaction kinetics and improving OER activity, and vice versa. Detailed investigation by operando Raman spectroelectrochemistry revealed that the electron-withdrawing modification facilitates the charge-transfer kinetics, stimulates the catalyst reconstruction, and promotes abundant high-valent γ-NiOOH reactive species generation. The NiO-C6 F5 catalyst, with the optimized electronic environment, exhibited superior performance towards water oxidation. This work provides a well-designed and effective approach for heterogeneous catalyst fabrication under the molecular level.
Mutations in the early growth response 2 gene (EGR2) cause demyelinating, but also axonal, neuropathies differing in severity and age of onset. Except for one family, all reported cases have autosomal dominant inheritance and mutations are localized within the three zinc finger (ZNF) DNA-binding domain. The aim of this study was to provide a clinical and molecular analysis of a novel recessive mutation in EGR2.
Clinical and electrophysiological assessments of three affected patients, from a consanguineous family, were performed. Genetic analyses of EGR2 were carried out by Sanger sequencing. Functional effects of clinical recessive mutations were assessed using a mammalian two-hybrid assay.
A novel missense mutation (c.791C>T; p.P264L) in the homozygous state was detected outside the ZNF domains of the EGR2 gene. Three affected siblings presented with distal demyelinating polyneuropathy with severe sensory loss, progressive thoracolumbar scoliosis and trigeminal neuralgia. Respiratory compromise and cranial nerve dysfunction were also found. Our data indicate that the p.P264L mutation prevents interaction of EGR2 transcription factor with NAB corepressors, suggesting that a disruption of the NAB-EGR2 protein interactions can result in dramatic neuropathy.
Mutations in, or next to, the R1 domain of EGR2 should be considered with extreme caution for genetic counseling, since these could cause a severe neuropathy with an autosomal recessive manner of transmission.

Although competency-based frameworks are widely used in healthcare professional education to develop outcomes-based curricula, assessment of student competency in professional placement settings remains challenging. The novel concept of Entrustable Professional Activities together with established methods of competency assessment, namely e-portfolios and self-assessment, was implemented in the “[La Trobe University Dietetic program in 2015-2016. This study aimed to appraise the e-portfolio and evaluate the use of Entrustable Professional Activities to assess competence. A mixed-methods evaluation, using qualitative and quantitative surveys with follow-up structured consultations, was conducted with final year dietetics students and their supervisors. selleck chemicals llc Dietetics students were comfortable with Entrustable Professional Activities and competency-based assessment, whereas supervisors preferred Entrustable Professional Activity based assessment. All stakeholders valued student self-assessment and the ongoing use of structured e-portfolios to develop and document competency. The use of structured e-portfolios, student self-assessment, and the emerging concept of Entrustable Professional Activities are useful tools to support dietetics student education in professional placement settings.
