The Mean Absolute Error on the pCT (110.98 HU ± 19.22 HU) compared to a baseline CNN (172.12 HU ± 19.61 HU) and a multi-atlas propagation approach (153.40 HU ± 18.68 HU), and subsequently lead to a significant improvement in the PET reconstruction error (4.74% ± 1.52% compared to baseline 13.72% ± 2.48% and multi-atlas propagation 6.68% ± 2.06%).We present a parametric physics-informed neural network for the simulation of personalised left-ventricular biomechanics. The neural network is constrained to the biophysical problem in two ways (i) the network output is restricted to a subspace built from radial basis functions capturing characteristic deformations of left ventricles and (ii) the cost function used for training is the energy potential functional specifically tailored for hyperelastic, anisotropic, nearly-incompressible active materials. The radial bases are generated from the results of a nonlinear Finite Element model coupled with an anatomical shape model derived from high-resolution cardiac images. We show that, by coupling the neural network with a simplified circulation model, we can efficiently generate computationally inexpensive estimations of cardiac mechanics. Our model is 30 times faster than the reference Finite Element model used, including training time, while yielding satisfactory average errors in the predictions of ejection fraction (-3%), peak systolic pressure (7%), stroke work (4%) and myocardial strains (14%). This physics-informed neural network is well suited to efficiently augment cardiac images with functional data and to generate large sets of synthetic cases for training deep network classifiers while it provides efficient personalization to the specific patient of interest with a high level of detail.A 4-year-old male neutered English bulldog presented for heart murmur evaluation. A total of 180 Jinding ducklings (7 days old) were randomly divided into 2 rearing systems of floor pen rearing (FPR) system and RD system. After 11 weeks, 12 ducks from each rearing system (6 males and females each) were used for carcass traits, meat quality, amino acid, and fatty acid analyses. The results showed that ducks reared in the RD system had higher carcass yield and intramuscular fat content (P less then 0.05) than those reared in the FPR system; however, ducks reared in the RD system had lower protein and moisture content (P less then 0.05). Additionally, the concentration of essential amino acids, including Tyr, Val, Met, Phe, His, Ala, Arg, and Pro, was higher in the breast muscle of ducks reared in the RD system than those reared in the FPR system. Furthermore, higher saturated fatty acid (C120, C140, C160, C180, and C210), monounsaturated fatty acid (C161, C181, and C181T), and polyunsaturated fatty acid (C222, C182n-6, and C226n3) content was recorded in the breast muscle of ducks reared in the RD system than those reared in the FPR system (P less then 0.05). Taken together, our results indicated that the RD system improved the carcass traits, intramuscular fat, essential amino acids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids profiles of the ducks. These findings suggest that the RD system is an effective strategy to improve the welfare and meat quality of ducks.The present study was designed to assess the impact of dietary supplementation of lemongrass essential oil (LGEO) on growth performance, carcass traits, liver and kidney function, immunity, antioxidant indices and caecal microbiota of growing quail. A total of 200 Japanese quails at 1-week-old were haphazardly allotted to 5 groups of 40 chicks in five replicates (8 per replicate). The first group was the control group, while LGEO was added at levels of 150, 300, 450, and 600 mg/kg diet in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th groups, respectively. Dietary supplementation of LGEO (150, 300 and 450 mg/ kg diet) increased body weight at 3 and 5 wk of age, and increased body weight gain during all periods compared with the control group (P 0.05), but the activity of aspartate aminotransferase in the plasma was significantly decreased (P less then 0.05) in LGEO-treated groups. The total protein and albumin values were significantly increased (P less then 0.05) in quails fed levels of LGEO (except 600 mg/kg diet) comparedth status of growing quail.The objective of this study was to characterize the bacterial diversity of cecal microbiota in broilers related to breast phenotype, diet, and genetic strain. Broilers from 2 genetic strains (120 birds/strain) were fed a control diet (15 birds/pen) and an amino acid reduced diet (15 birds/pen, digestible lysine, total sulfur amino acids, and threonine reduced by 20% compared to the control diet). At 8 wk of age, 4 male broilers with normal breast (NB, 1 chick per pen) and 4 male broilers with woody breast (WB, 1 chick per pen) were selected for each treatment (strain × diet). The DNA of cecal samples was extracted and the 16S rRNA genes were sequenced and analyzed. There were no differences (P > 0.05) in the alpha diversity of gut microbiota between 2 phenotypes (NB vs. WB), 2 strains, or 2 diets (control vs. reduced). However, principal coordinate analysis plots (beta diversity) revealed that there were composition differences in samples between the 2 phenotypes (P = 0.001) and the 2 diets (P = 0.024). The most abundant phyla in all samples were Firmicutes, followed by Bacteroidetes and Proteobacteria.
