05). Both groups had good EmR score. Weight consequences awareness were only slightly higher among college freshmen compared to high school students, scoring at 78 (20-96) and 63 (30-100) respectively. Higher body mass index was associated with better EmR and WCE scores in both groups.
Majority of the obese adolescents were already at the action and contemplation phase and also had appropriate emotional readiness to change. However, compared to college students, high school adolescence needed more support to maintain their weight management, in the form of education to raise awareness of obesity consequences.

This objective of this study was to measure the performance of the identification of the seniors at risk (ISAR) tool and triage risk-screening tool (TRST) for frailty screening in elderly emergency room (ER) patients.
A cross-sectional study involving subjects aged 60 years or older was conducted at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital ER from September-November 2018. Frailty was defined by the Forty Item Frailty Index (FI-40). The ISAR and TRST performance were measured as sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value (PPV and NPV), positive and negative likelihood ratio (LR+ and LR-) and the area under the curve (AUC).
A total of 471 subjects were examined, of which 300 (63.7%) were in the 60-69-year-old subgroup with a median age of 66 years and an age range of 60-95 years. There were 262 (55.6%) male subjects and 445 (94.5%) were non-trauma patients. According to the FI-40, 386 (82%) were classified as frail. ISAR and TRST showed a sensitivity of 87.6% vs 93.8%, a specificity of 58.8% vs 43.5%, a PPV of 90.6% vs 88.3%, an NPV of 51% vs 60.7%, a LR+ of 2.13 vs 1.66 and a LR- of 0.21 vs 0.14, respectively. Both had similar AUCs of 0.8 (95% CI ISAR [0.76, 0.86] and TRST [0.75, 0.86], p = 0.91).
ISAR and TRST showed outstanding frailty-screening results among elderly ER patients.

The current study aimed to evaluate the impact of students’ participation in this community diagnosis (CD) exercise on their competency development.
The CD was performed by 235 first-year students through a home visit to obtain health data through questionnaire and physical examination; the data was analysed using the IBM® SPSS® version 24 statistical analysis software. The impact of CD participation on student skills development was evaluated using a cross – sectional questionnaire – based survey using the Likert five – point scale to assess student attitudes.
CD exercise was performed by 235 first-year students by collecting data from 373 community residents. Subsequently, survey on effect of CD exercise on student competency responses were collected from 47 students (20%) of the 235 CD participants; the results showed that most agreed that CD enhanced their competence as physicians in all areas. The highest mean (SD) Likert scale score was recorded for the statement, ‘CD enhanced effective communication’ (4.47 ± 0.747). NM107 A total of 44 (93.6%) respondents supported the continuation of CD, claiming that the activity is a forum through which students can practice interacting with patients.
The survey found that effective communication is the skill most established by involvement in CD, and the activity provides a good base for students’ self-development as professional physicians.

This study aimed to investigate osteoporosis knowledge and bone health practices among students of a Malaysian public university.
A cross-sectional study was conducted amongst university students from a Malaysian’s public university. A total of 228 students responded to a self-administered questionnaire consisting of items evaluating knowledge and practices of osteoporosis.
The students showed a moderate level of osteoporosis awareness with a score of 63.3%. Male subjects had higher awareness scores of osteoporosis complications compared to female subjects (p= 0.010). Malay (p= 0.002) and Chinese (p= 0.005) had higher levels of osteoporosis awareness compared to Indian students. Coffee and alcohol intakes were significantly different between the sexes (p= 0.013) and the ethnic groups (p= 0.029). Most of the subjects in our study were minimally active (43.9%).
The students had a reasonable levels of knowledge about osteoporosis, but their health activities to avoid osteoporosis were insufficient. This illustrates the need for educational programmes to improve students’ knowledge and awareness for successful osteoporosis prevention.

Lactate is a useful prognostic marker, as its level increases in hypoxic tissue and/or during accelerated aerobic glycolysis due to excessive beta-adrenergic stimulation and decreased lactate clearance. The Surviving Sepsis Campaign Bundle 2018 Update suggested re-measurement of lactate within 2-4 hours so as to conduct/ help/administer /introduce lactate-guided resuscitation to reduce mortality due to sepsis. The aim of this study was to compare initial lactate levels and lactate clearance at 4 h of recognition of sepsis as mortality predictors in sepsis.
It was a prospective study performed with ethical approval in a single tertiary care centre. Patients aged 18 years or older who were diagnosed with sepsis by the Sepsis-3 definition were included in the study while patients who were not admitted to the ICU were excluded Dropout criteria was death of pateints within 4 hours of recognition of sepsis. Baseline demographic data was obtained and subjects were treated with an hour-1 bundle and examined for initial lactate levels.
